The previous year’s showcase was around 2 hours, including the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 direct that followed, so expect this year’s event to have a similar runtime. You can never have too many video games in your life (or on Game Pass, for that matter!).
What to expect from the Xbox Games Showcase 2025?

Let’s start with the Xbox’s elephants in the room and address the flagship titles that have a high chance of making an appearance at this year’s showcase. After revealing a brand new trailer for Fable at last year’s showcase, Playground Games may finally be ready to show off their next title, Forza Horizon 6, which is rumored to be set in Japan.
Next up is The Coalition’s return to its roots with Gears of War: E-Day, which was showcased at yesteryear’s event. Set during the Emergence Day, Marcus and Dom take the centre stage again in this prequel. You can expect more updates on the upcoming Gears of War: Reloaded as it launches on all platforms later this year.
The new Call of Duty game, rumored to be the true sequel to 2012’s Black Ops 2, might make an appearance at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. Considering they’re now first-party, CoD showing up at the biggest Xbox event is a no-brainer.
Expect to see more of The Initiative’s Perfect Dark after its gameplay reveal last year at the event. A playable demo or a release window isn’t out of the realm of possibilities either, as a lot can be developed in a year.
343 has been silent about Halo ever since they rebranded to Halo Studios, but if the viridescent stars align, then we could receive updates on the next Halo game or the rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake.
If Todd Howard decides to bless us with an appearance, we might just be lucky enough to receive a tiny gift in the form of an Elder Scrolls 6 update, but keep your expectations in check.
Last but not least, expect nearly all the titles announced in the showcase, be it indie or AAA, to drop day one on Game Pass, so get your subscriptions ready. Some of them might even arrive on PlayStation, if Xbox’s past trends are anything to go off of.
