A WOMAN was left devastated after ordering a luxury Instagram-worthy cake for her 21st birthday – and what arrived looked like “vomit.”
Alexandra Tobie, from Cape Town, had hoped for a personalised pink sparkly cake for her special milestone event.

The cake she had requested was heart-shaped, with piped icing and topped with edible glitter.
It also had personalised black and white photos around the edge.
However, the birthday girl was left lost for words by the “ugly” cake that arrived.
In a clip on TikTok, Alexandra shared the photo of the cake she had ordered from the bakery, which had the words “That Girl Since ’03’” piped on top.
In the expectation vs reality video, she then showed what had arrived.
Her cake was floppy and rather amateur looking, and was circular instead of heart-shaped.
While it did also bear the writing “That Girl Since ’03’”, the text was rather messy and done in garish bright blue and yellow colouring.
There were also no photos around the outside of the cake.
After the photos were shared online, many people were quick to give their views and brand it “ugly.”
One wrote: “Seems like the yellow gel ran out and BLUE was the second option, not even black.”
Another said: “I know my entire year would be ruined with a cake like that!”
While some said they would not have paid, another added: “Ewww it looks like vomit.”
WEDDING CAKE DISASTER
We previously shared how a bride-to-be was left devastated after she ordered a peacock-themed wedding cake that arrived looking like a “lopsided turkey with leprosy”.
Rena Davis, from Georgia in the US, had ordered her perfect wedding cake after showing the baker an image of a similar one she had found online.
The unusual design was supposed to feature two birds, a heart-shaped cake, and chocolate cupcakes.
But what arrived was in stark contrast, with the peacock‘s head falling off the “lopsided” cake.

Rena was utterly heartbroken, after forking out $300 (almost £250) for the cake a month before the big day.
And despite being reassured everything was “going to plan” in the weeks leading up to the wedding, the cake arrived the night before and was nothing like what the 52-year-old imagined.
Just as the baker drove away, the peacock’s head reportedly fell off and Rena realised the fondant icing was actually buttercream.
Despite chasing for a refund, Rena claims she was initially refused, but after sharing her ordeal on social media, she received an envelope in her letterbox including $300 (£242).
“I felt heartbroken. I saw [the cake] and walked out of the room,” she explained.
Can you get a full refund if an item arrives and looks nothing like the photos?
AROUND one in six people who bought an item online were unhappy with it not matching the product’s photos or description, according to a Which? survey.
Of these, four in 10 who were upset blamed misleading product pictures as the issue.
But can you get a refund if what arrives looks nothing like the snaps?
Which? explained that under consumer law, “you’re entitled to a full refund if an item you’ve ordered online doesn’t match its description.”
However, the site found that a quarter of those who had arrived at a settlement with a company didn’t receive all their money back.
They added: “You have a right to reject items that aren’t as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
“Providing picture evidence alongside screenshots of the advertised product description or image should help when complaining.”
“It was a lopsided mess – nothing like I thought it would be like.
“[Before], we’d heard nothing from her since. She had not called or anything.
“The only reason she gave a refund now was because of the viral post.
“She said she couldn’t give me my money back at first because she had 50 hours in it and she had to pay her mum for helping.”
