Wildfire Reported Northwest of Downieville – Poverty Fire
Downieville, CA — A wildfire has been reported northwest of Downieville on Plumas National Forest. USFS crews are currently on scene actively working to contain the fire. Air tankers and helicopters are making water and retardant drops in support of ground personnel.
At this time, the fire remains within federal forest lands and poses no immediate threat to any structures or communities.
The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office is closely monitoring the situation and is in contact with fire officials. Any changes in fire behavior or new threats to public safety will be communicated promptly.
