If Disney had a nickel for every time their leading man was faced with criminal charges, it would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it has happened twice.
After Johnny Depp emerged victorious from the court, Tron: Ares star Jared Leto found himself facing allegations and accusations for allegedly se*ually harassing girls (some of them who were minors). Leto has vehemently denied the accusations, and the timing for these crimes to be publicized does seem a little odd, especially considering Jared Leto has to pull two movies to success (Tron: Ares and Masters of the Universe).
Disney now has two nickels!
Back when Johnny Depp was removed from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in 2018, the world was in an uproar. Amber Heard had accused Depp of alleged domestic violence and claimed to be a survivor of physical abuse.
After the actor’s departure, Depp denied all claims and avowed that he would never return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because of a lack of trust in the actor. The Depp-defamation trial took place, and Depp emerged victorious against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
That was back in 2022, and three years later, Disney is facing a similar problem, but this time, it’s with Suicide Squad star and unconventional star, Jared Leto. The actor has been accused by 9 women of misbehaving with them in cases back in mid to late 2000s.
However, that’s just the start of the report, as according to Air Mail, Leto allegedly pursued the women (while some were even underage), exposed himself, and harassed the women. The report even detailed a disturbing incident that allegedly took place with Leto and a minor. Although the Morbius star has publicly denied all accusations in an announcement, it does seem that the timing of these accusations is quite… good.
Jared Leto has Tron: Ares and Masters of the Universe to shoulder!
As the report by Air Mail further continued, it detailed an alleged conversation that took place between Leto and a minor. According to the accusations, Leto asked the minor if she had ever given oral s*x before. The report also noted that Jared Leto paraded around naked in front of a 17-year-old girl in his home, both of which the actor has denied completely.
The Tron franchise has always been an underrated gem at Disney. With uneven film productions and gaps in release dates, the world was finally excited to see the trailer for Tron: Ares, which starred Jared Leto. Several theories were also made, and the world was hyped up to see more of the film.
On the other hand, Masters of the Universe was announced, an upcoming superhero film, which would be an adaptation of Mattel’s franchise of the same name. Jared Leto was announced to be portraying the villainous role of Skeletor in the upcoming movie.
Naturally, the publication of these accusations has a certain odd timing, as some fans are suspecting foul play and an attempt to defame Jared Leto in Hollywood. The actor has already suffered quite a lot through his movies and hasn’t had much success in the 2020s.
However, these alleged accusations might have some true base to them, and Leto would have a chance to defend himself if a trial ever takes place. Nothing can be confirmed or denied as Jared Leto has denied all the accusations, and both parties have refused to comment on this matter.
Whatever happens, we can say that maybe Tron: Ares will get delayed, or maybe Jared Leto finds himself out of two movies and going to court to defend himself.
