To Be Hero X began with the biggest mystery of them all, that is, the death of Nice. While it was a shock to Lin Ling, not everyone shared the same sentiment. But how could an indestructible superhero die from a simple fall?
Lin Ling saw Nice die with his own two eyes. Some fans think that the death was fake and Nice is still alive somewhere. Others believe there was some kind of plot underway or a fault with the trust system. But the reality might be far from it.
Nice’s death seems impossible in theory..
Nice had superhuman physicality, which means the more trust he gained, the stronger and more durable his body became. On top of flight and reflexes, he was also capable of performing feats of superhuman strength. He could lift thousands of tons, and his body was basically a walking shield.
His only weakness was OCD stemming from the wishes of fans that he needs to be absolutely perfect. But this isn’t the type of weakness that can get someone killed.
So, simply put, Nice is almost like Superman, and with his strengths, he should be extremely hard to kill. Not to mention, falling from a height would have triggered his natural instinct to fly and save himself. It’s like if a swimmer decided to die by diving into a pool of water.
So, how did Nice die from such a low-impact fall? The series built up Nice splendidly in the beginning, and even later continued to show how he was the toughest. Thus, his suic*de has made people think that something else is underway.
Nice is just a persona in To Be Hero X
Consider Moon for a moment. She was portrayed as the girlfriend of Nice and played the part perfectly. However, no matter how much people trusted in their relationship, she didn’t actually like Nice.
Thus, Moon is just a persona that Yueqing takes upon to be a hero and to maintain her image in front of the public eye. She was able to leave the persona behind in episode 2.
Now let’s talk about Lin Ling in episode 4 when he was stuck in the tower of heroes. He abandoned his Nice persona, which made him lose all power. Thus, he was back to being Lin Ling, and he was allowed to leave. In the same way, Nice must have also been able to drop his persona on his own will.
Nice might have turned off his hero persona just so he could escape the misery he was living in. This allowed his superhero defense system to be turned off. Thus, he could jump, and his body sustained damage like any other average person. Nice was desperate enough to die so that he could throw away his whole personality.
