The anime industry is soon getting a new series in the form of Gachiakuta, which is being adapted by Bones Inc. The anime has created a lot of hype on the internet as it brings a different kind of story to life, something that fans have not seen before. The anime has announced a global premiere on July 6, 2025.
However, Gachiakuta is already a popular name within the manga industry, and the reason behind this is the eccentric art style that is embedded within the story by Kei Urana, which is completed by graffiti designs from Ando Hideyoshi.
The art style of Gachiakuta fits perfectly well with Bones Inc.’s animation style. In a recent interview, Urana and Hideyoshi talked about Gachiakuta’s unique art style and how they managed to make it so different yet addictive.
Kei Urana’s expression of the art style in Gachiakuta
Following the announcement of the release of the Gachiakuta anime series, the official Gachiakuta anime YouTube channel released a special video titled “BEHIND GACHIAKUTA | Creators Interview & Behind-the-scenes.” During the interview, Urana was asked about the art style she embeds within Gachiakuta and how it expresses her own emotions.

Urana revealed:
With manga, I can pour all my emotions into characters and express the things I want to do in my head. The chaos in my mind comes out in a good way. I like having fun when I draw. The Japanese “mixture rock” music genre describes Gachiakuta best. Anyone, any values, any kind of design, can fit in Gachiakuta, which makes it special.
According to the Gachiakuta manga creator, the art style of her masterpiece includes all the chaos that she holds in her mind. She expresses it within the story and has fun while doing so. Not only that, her art style includes pouring all of her emotions into her characters and expressing them through them.
She then explained that the best explanation of Gachiakuta’s art style is described through the Japanese mixture rock genre, which is essentially a combination of different aspects of rock music. She feels like anything can fit into Gachiakuta, and that’s what makes it special.
Ando Hideyoshi talks about the graffiti art in Gachiakuta

Gachiakuta’s art style includes illustrations by Urana, which are complemented by graffiti designs from Ando Hideyoshi. When asked about his art style within the manga series, Hideyoshi revealed that, according to him, graffiti in Gachiakuta mostly embeds colours and freedom.
Hideyoshi stated:
The colours and the freedom. Graffiti keeps evolving as it incorporates fonts, calligraphy, and other elements and is becoming more and more refined. I think the freedom of expression is what I like most about the graffiti. Ultimately, I’ve been looking for ways to express myself freely and that is what makes it fun. That’s why I do what I do.
The graffiti artist explained that as graffiti keeps evolving continuously as it incorporates other elements, the freedom of expression that he gets while drawing these graffiti designs for Gachiakuta is what he likes the most.
There is no doubt that the art style of Gachiakuta is the best feature of the entire series, and hopefully, Bones Inc. will adapt it in the best way possible. That is the only way the Gachiakuta anime series will become as popular as the manga series.
Gachiakuta anime will be available to stream on Crunchyroll from July 6.
