WWE recently released R-Truth, but he surprised everyone by showing up at the 2025 Money in the Bank tag team match featuring John Cena, Logan Paul, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes. His unexpected return got us thinking, could other recently released WWE superstars also be making a comeback?
Dakota Kai is an obvious choice if we’re thinking about possible returns since the company would benefit big-time from bringing her back. But according to the latest reports, there’s another wrestler who might be on their way back to the company soon.
WWE might be planning to bring this superstar back after R-Truth
Braun Strowman was one of WWE’s biggest and most popular stars, so his release came as a shock. While it might seem like his WWE journey is over, that’s not really the case. Even after leaving the promotion, Strowman is still working with the company in some capacity. Sounds surprising, right?
He’ll soon be seen on the USA Network show Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman, which, guess what, is produced by WWE. This just proves that the company hasn’t forgotten about him, and he could still be part of their future plans, even if it’s in a different role.
While Strowman might not be competing in the ring like he used to, he could take on a part-time position, promoting the promotion outside of wrestling. Given his larger-than-life persona, The Monster among men could easily become a great ambassador for the brand.
He might not get paid as much as he used to, but still, he might be in profit if he decides to stay with the company. Now, the real question is, will Triple H actually consider bringing him back? We, as fans, desperately wish that to happen.
Is WWE trying to pave the way for the new generation by releasing veterans?
Triple H might be looking to cut costs, which could explain why they’re offloading veteran superstars or offering them new contracts with lower pay. Take R-Truth, for example; his release may have been due to his hefty paycheck. Even though he’s back, chances are Triple H will give him a new contract with a reduced salary.
Roman Reigns, the highest-paid WWE superstar, might also be getting a new contract. Reports suggest that since he’s been appearing only at major events, WWE could be reevaluating his deal.
This could mean Triple H is shifting focus to the next generation, gradually phasing out veteran stars to make room for younger talent. Instead of handing out big paychecks to established names, he might start promoting and backing NXT wrestlers more aggressively.
But still, at the end of the day, it is the superstars who bring the views. WWE might have to work on this very delicately and plan fully, as one single misstep against a veteran might be the final nail in Triple H’s coffin.
