Nine New Weapon in Lies of P Overture, Ranked

If you’re an avid Soulslike fan like me, you must already be deep into Lies of P Overture, unveiling more secrets about the city of Krat. However, this time around, you’ll face more dangerous enemies with brand-new attack patterns while roaming the streets of the city. Hence, selecting the right weapon is pivotal if you want to shred your enemies into pieces.

While you can use all the weapons from the base game, the newly introduced weapons feature new and powerful fable arts. And similar to the base game, weapons can even be separated into two parts, which lets you experiment with all the resources for better outcomes. That said, we’ve ranked the nine new weapons in Lies of P Overture.

Ranking of all nine new weapons in Lies of P Overture DLC

As discussed, a bunch of weapons have been added to this prequel title, Lies of P Overture. Even though we’re yet to discover the names of all DLC weapons, here are the rankings of those based on multiple parameters, such as attack speed, damage, and more:

1. Lantern

Even though the Lantern is a standard type of weapon, it provides attacks that should be lethal at times. The light attack allows you to perform quick thrusting charges, and the heavy attack launches fire from the bottom part, enabling you to move in the direction of your choice. Surprisingly, you can either attack by entering the enemy territory or create distance by abusing speed to avoid the new boss’s attack patterns. If you’re a fan of exploiting speed and maneuverability, this weapon should be the key to winning battles.

2. Royal Horn Bow

The Royal Horn Bow is something new introduced by Neowiz in this prequel, Lies of P Overture DLC. It’s a special bow-type weapon that heavily relies upon Technique. Like most weapons, it features two fable arts: Patient Shot and Dodge Shot. While the first fable art should help you perform the perfect draw mechanic of the arrow, the second one helps more with the maneuverability aspect and other defensive options.

3. Flame Lance

If you’re familiar with those medieval jousting contests between the knights, then you should get a good idea about this Flame Lance’s design. And as the name suggests, yes, it can shoot fire. However, this heavy attack uses up a lot of your stamina during its usage. Considering its flexibility, this should be your cup of tea if you enjoy spamming fire-type weapons in Soulslike titles.

4. Silent Evangelists’ Mace

If you are a Big Pipe Wrench abuser in the base game, then using the Silent Evangelists’ Mace should be a cakewalk for you. It’s nothing but a standard large blunt-type weapon with heavy damage. Surprisingly, the design caught my attention as it features a coiled-up snake’s head at the top. Honestly, the design looks quite interesting.

Silent Evangelists’ Mace possesses two fable links—acid spray and linked payback swing. The weapon’s name implies acid attacks from its blade, which makes it even more interesting in the new prequel.

5. Pale Knight

Pale Knight is a special greatsword-type weapon that has a firearm and a classic slash attack. If you’re a fan of Final Fantasy VIII, you should be familiar with the build. The heavy attack lets you perform a shotgun blast at the enemies, inflicting significant damage. Meanwhile, another follow-up attack will thrust you towards the enemy to inflict a lethal strike.

6. Maniac’s Pinwheel

Maniac’s Pinwheel is another greatsword-type weapon, featuring two massive red wheels that provide deadly damage to your enemies. If you’re a fanboy of a Motivity build, this is the perfect choice for you. It features multi-hit attacks like other special-type weapons. Even though it may seem slow at first, one of its Fable Arts allows you to perform a four-strike swift attack on the targeted enemies.

7. Death’s Talons

Ever wondered what it feels like to use a Wolverine Claw in a non-Marvel title? Well, Neowiz just gave us the opportunity to use it in their brand new DLC. The developers have introduced this new type of weapon in Lies of P Overture.

The Death’s Talons is another special type of weapon featuring swift multi-hit attacks. And in terms of Fable Arts, it consists of two things — Link Slash and Rampage. The Rampage skill buffs your weapon damage for a short span. If you’re a fan of close-range combat, you should definitely give it a shot.

8. Royal Blade

If you’ve faced Laxasia in the base game, you should be familiar with the design of this Royal Blade. We already got a great look at the weapon’s gameplay in the announcement trailer. This standard weapon has a great futuristic design featuring chain links and probably hydraulic gears in the centre.

9. The Bludgeon

If you’re familiar with the Black Steel Cutter from the original Lies of P, The Bludgeon has a somewhat similar design. This two-handed standard weapon, where the blade and the handle can be customised. It’s a very basic weapon, and the attack speed is quite slow compared to the other weapons in the DLC.

So, that sums up our ranking of all the new DLC weapons in Lies of P Overture. What’s your choice of weapon in this new prequel? Let us know in the comments.
