Some of the most popular skins in Marvel Rivals will be returning to the game this week. To celebrate 616 Day, NetEase Games will be dropping some fan-favorite bundles as part of the 616 Vault Day event. These bundles feature exclusive skins that will be available for a limited time only, so be sure to grab them this week, as they might go back into the vault forever.
June 16th is celebrated as 616 Day, which refers to Earth-616, the main Marvel Comics universe where most of the classic Marvel stories take place. The new skins are great, but they might not be enough to keep the players hooked because Marvel Rivals has been slowly losing its player base.
Marvel Rivals players can get some exclusive bundles this week
The official X account of Marvel Rivals has confirmed that six fan-favorite bundles are making a return to the game as a part of the 616 Vault Day event, which will celebrate 616 Day and the larger Marvel Universe. It is unclear if the bundles will be released on the cosmetics store or will appear on a separate event screen. All the bundles were available at discounted prices when they were released, but it’s hard to say if they will be discounted once again.

Will new skins save Marvel Rivals from losing popularity?

Since January 2025, the game has lost over 65% of its player base. At this pace, the game could have fewer than 100,000 active players in a month in August, and by the end of this year, the number could fall below 50,000.
Even the latest season 2.5 update couldn’t do much to keep the players hooked. NetEase’s entire focus seems to be on new cosmetics or maps, but the entire problem is the fact that the game lacks some core features that every hero shooter has. No role queue system, technical bugs, and a strange matchmaking system are a few things that are forcing players to uninstall the game.
Leaks suggest that the studio plans to add a few more iconic heroes to the game in the next season. The news is exciting, but it’s hard to say if it will spike the active player count.
