A MAN has been arrested in connection with a robbery earlier this week.
Gardai made the arrest following a robbery at a retail premises in Ballybrack Village earlier this week.
At around 5.30pm on Monday, June 2, a man entered a filling station in the area with his face covered.
According to Gardai, he was brandishing a knife.
He threatened staff and took a sum of money before fleeing the scene.
During the course of an operation that took place today, a male was arrested.
Gardai from the Shankill Detective Unit arrested him in the Shankill area of Dublin in connection with the investigation.
He was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He remains in custody at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.
In a statement this evening Gardai confirmed investigations were ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai have arrested a male in connection with a robbery that occurred at a retail premises in Ballybrack Village earlier this week.
“At approximately 5:30pm on Monday, 2nd June 2025, a male entered a filling station in Ballybrack Village with his face covered and brandishing a knife.
“He threatened staff and took a sum of cash before fleeing the scene.
“In the course of an operation earlier today, Friday, 6th June 2025, Gardai from the Shankill Detective Unit arrested a male in the Shankill area of Dublin in connection with the investigation.
“He was subsequently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and remains in custody at this time at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
