Ginny & Georgia is a show that is both chaotic in its storyline and in its production. Starring Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry in leading roles, the iconic show received worldwide fame and acclaim. The premise follows a young single mother who is trying to raise her teenage daughter and son after being on the run for many years.
Trying to settle and lead normal lives in New England, the show compels the audience to watch the drama unfold with plenty of wholesome and family moments, and has been loved by millions of fans around the world. However, not everything is what it seems.
It was fine for Ginny & Georgia until it wasn’t..
When the show debuted in 2021, Austin Miller (who is the younger brother of Ginny Miller) was portrayed by Diesel La Torraca, who was actually 9 years old at that time.
Austin Miller is supposed to be canonically only 9 years old in Ginny & Georgia, and while the show was being made in 2019, Diesel La Torraca was actually 9 years old since he was born in 2011.
The first season aired, and fans loved it. The principal photography of the second season began in 2021 and ended in April 2022, during which La Torraca was 12 years old, though the change wasn’t much noticeable at that time.
The creators had a two-year break from 2022 to 2024 as production on the third season of Ginny & Georgia began in 2024, while the Ginny & Georgia actor was 13 years old. That change was very visible since Austin Miller (the character) was a fan of Harry Potter, hence the glasses, and was bigger in stature.
We did say it before, as he did not look like a 9-year-old anymore, and that is what fans noticed first with the recent release of season 3 of the iconic Netflix show.
Fans claim Netflix will have to recast Diesel La Torraca
The third season of the iconic Netflix show was released recently (5 June) around the world, and millions of people watched their favorite show take on a new season.
Taking their opinions on X, fans pointed out the sudden change in Diesel La Torraca’s appearance and how he did not fit in the 9-year-old age range anymore.
They also pointed out that the Harry Potter glasses, which he so diligently wore, did not fit his face anymore, and the whole thing looked a bit weird now.

The glasses are a bit of a problem, aren’t they? Well, Netflix could have just bought him bigger glasses, but maybe they wanted to keep the illusion around that he is still the 9-year-old Austin Miller that fans have known and loved.
Well, the third and fourth seasons are being put in production together, so it seems that Diesel La Torraca is not going anywhere soon. The iconic show currently stands at a rating of 7.4/10 on IMDb and an average of 64% on Rotten Tomatoes.
