Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have had quite a few bumps in the road when it comes to making their forever home in the UK. As fans know, ever since they moved to the UK, there have been issues with their Cotswald property, like alleged fights with neighbors, “technical breaches” with their property, and more, leading them to move to a country home around the bend.
And now, in another turn of events, they have another problem: but this one is nothing short of adorable.
Earlier this week, on June 3, DeGeneres shared a hilarious video of her and Rossi trying to mow the lawn, with the caption reading, “Sheep are supposed to eat the grass so you don’t have to mow. Our sheep didn’t get the memo.”
And this isn’t the first time we’ve gotten a glimpse at their new home, and how the lawn has been their biggest struggle. On May 4, DeGeneres shared a video that Rossi took of her latest UK escapade. She shared the video with the caption reading, “Portia thought it would be fun to film my first time on the mower. She was right.”
So it seems the biggest problem at their new home is the lawn, which is a total 180 from the messy start to their life abroad.

For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and Rossi met back in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. However, they didn’t get together until 2004. When they reconnected in 2004, DeGeneres was with photographer Alexandra Hedison, and Rossi was with singer Francesca Gregorini. However, after they split with their respective partners, they started dating.
They got engaged, and later married in Aug 2008, at their former home in Beverly Hills, Calif; and have been together ever since.
After Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, DeGeneres and Rossi left all of their California properties behind to move to the UK. There has been considerable speculation about the reasons behind their decision: political motivations, avoidance of high taxes in California, and other factors; yet have never confirmed or denied any of them to this day.
