David Corenswet is yet to make his official onscreen debut as Superman in his eponymous movie in James Gunn’s revamped DC cinematic universe, but it sounds like he is already making big splashes. For one, as the latest reports have it, he has even apparently left two A-listers in the entertainment industry behind with his upcoming flick in one aspect.
As surprising as it may seem, Corenswet has outclassed Hollywood’s king of action and stunts Tom Cruise and even the prince of masterclass acting Michael B. Jordan, as his soon-to-be-released film on the Big Blue Boy Scout has reportedly surpassed both of these stunners’ latest movies with a ticket sales record that is being deemed the best in 2025.
David Corenswet’s Superman is already outclassing Tom Cruise and Michael B. Jordan

There is still a month before David Corenswet‘s Superman finally hits the screens to kickstart James Gunn‘s version of the DCU, but it feels like fans already can’t wait. If anything, judging from the latest reports about its ticket sales, it wouldn’t quite be an exaggeration to call this upcoming flick one of the most anticipated movies of 2025.
Fans must know that the Early Access Screening tickets for Amazon Prime Members for this movie were recently released. According to @Fandango on X, the flick perfectly played in the same as it sold so many tickets that the company confirmed it to have become its best first-day ticket pre-seller of 2025, outclassing the others that came before it.
That sure seems to be a record, considering the box office in 2025 hasn’t entirely been a weak one, with strong contenders like Tom Cruise‘s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Michael B. Jordan‘s Sinners, and Final Destination: Bloodlines having already made their way to the screens and broken records while faring perfectly with audiences.
Notably enough, what makes this record even more exceptional is the fact that earlier claims noted Disney’s Lilo & Stitch (the live-action remake) and Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps as the top pre-sellers of 2025 (per Animation Magazine and Box Office Pro). So of course fans are celebrating this as a win-win situation for Corenswet’s movie.
Fans react to Superman surpassing strong opponents with its pre-ticket sales on Fandango

Looking at the records, it’s evident that Corenswet’s debut flick as a superhero won’t be tied down or held back, irrespective of how much backlash or criticism it continues to get from the part of the fandom that is still not willing to accept him as the new Man of Steel. That said, fans aren’t hesitating to celebrate this situation for the upcoming flick.
In fact, quite a few of them are even sharing sarcastic reactions, taking a clear and open dig at all the people who are still against Corenswet’s Clark Kent, even after all he has done for the movie.
All in all, taking to X to share their respective reactions to the same, here’s what some of them have to say:
But but Snydergobbler556 told me it wasn’t gonna sell…
