But host Maya Jama arrives to announce that things are going to be different this year.

The stars line up, and in front of them they can see six hearts with short dating profiles of the boys – including name, age, height, job, and then a playful line about their dating styles and hopes for the future

The girls then have to decide, based on the profiles, who they’d like to couple up with.

They have a bit of time to chat, before Maya counts to three and the girls run over to the hearts, each picking one boy each.

It’s at this moment that the boys come out to discover who they’ve been coupled up with.

It’s set to be an explosive start to Love Island this series, as a girl has already been booted out of the Love Island villa in the series’ first savage twist.

Host Maya Jama has said the summer will be packed with big surprises – and this is the first.

The female Islander was “absolutely gutted” to be first out and has already left the villa after the early shake-up.

But viewers have been warned this won’t follow the usual Love Island playbook.

A source said: “This girl will be sorely missed as was already proving to be a big character. She was absolutely gutted to leave.

“But the series has twists and turns at every stage and this isn’t the usual dumping viewers might expect after a bombshell arrives.

“Executive producer Mike Spencer-Hayter has promised drama for the tenth anniversary and this format point will not disappoint.”

The must-watch first episode will kick off tonight on ITV2, ITVX and on YouTube, with plenty going on.

It comes after bombshell Antonia Laites – who will be known as Toni – strutted into the villa. The Sun revealed the Las Vegas pool party waitress was the first sexy bombshell to arrive this series.

Caoimhe O’Connor explains how Dublin plan on using last year’s ‘huge hurt’ to get back to the top in 2025

DUBLIN forward Caoimhe O’Connor admits the Sky Blues’ hurt locker is bursting at the seams.

The Dubs suffered a shock All-Ireland quarter–final loss to Galway after extra-time last July, and they have been stewing over that result ever since.

In November, Mick Bohan stood down as boss after eight years in charge following a glittering second stint in the hotseat, which saw them claim their fourth All-Ireland in a row in 2020 and another in 2023.

The reins were then handed to Paul Casey and Derek Murray, and they surged to Leinster SFC glory against Meath last month at Croke Park.

Now all eyes are on getting the Brendan Martin Cup back. That journey started on Sunday when they drew their All-Ireland series round robin opener with Waterford.

The Blues sisters’ group is rounded out by Leitrim.

Prior to Sunday’s 1-13 apiece draw, O’Connor spoke about how the pain from last year lingers on within their panel.

She told SunSport: “I think there’s huge, huge hurt coming off the back of last year. No one wants to get knocked out in the quarter-final.

“But I think it’s just trying to shake that off, dealing with it at the time over the winter.

“You’re thinking back to what might have gone wrong or what we didn’t do so well and chatting it through. And I think over the winter, we were just going through it then.

“But then when we come back in for the new year and this group, it’s just trying to park it, but also using it as a positive in that we don’t want to have this feeling again.

“Getting knocked out by Galway last year in the quarter-final was obviously such a huge blow. We know the feeling of not being successful, and we also know the feeling of being successful.

“So it’s to try to get back to that place and really pushing on for the rest of the summer.

“We’ve got a great squad and a great group of girls, and we all drive each other on.”

With new faces in the dugout, plenty of familiar ones are still delivering on the pitch.

Stalwart Hannah Tyrrell, 34, fired 1-4 in their 2-13 to 1-12 win over Meath as O’Connor lined out in their back six alongside Leah Caffrey, Martha Byrne and Lauren Magee.

Seven-time All-Star winner Sinéad Goldrick, 35, missed the bulk of their 2024 campaign as she lined out with AFLW giants Melbourne, but has ended her six-year stint Down Under to fully focus on the Dubs.

Clontarf ace O’Connor made her SFC debut in 2019 — and believes that experience will be vital if they are to go all the way in 2025.

She said: “Oh yeah, it’s huge. Obviously, girls staying around and sticking with it and having the experience . . .  the likes of Hannah Tyrrell, Carla Rowe and Goldie coming back in.

“I just think Goldie brings a different sort of energy and drive and strength to the squad.

“So having her in with us has been huge since she’s come back, so we’re delighted that she came back to us this year.

“I suppose just her hunger and her drive and her determination and obviously her experience of playing with us for the last few years.

“Then Leah and Martha, they’ve all been around for a long time. I think having the experience is huge and having them still around is such a plus for us.

“And then I think that comes also with the young girls coming in and having their drive. So it’s a good mix of youth and experience.”

Reeves’ toxic snatching of Winter Fuel cash from millions of pensioners will haunt Labour for years to come

AS POLITICAL u-turns go, Rachel Reeves’ retreat on winter fuel payments will surely go down as one of the biggest – and messiest – in history.

Her first act as Chancellor to snatch the cold weather cash from 10million pensioners has today been spectacularly dumped.

Nine million OAPs will now get the benefit, meaning all but the richest will claw back the £200-£300 sum.

With a price tag of £1.25billion, this whole palaver has only saved the Treasury £450million.

It’s chicken feed in the grand scheme of things, and a tenth of the annual migrant hotel bill.

But the political cost has been devastating.

Labour insiders trace their spanking at last month’s local elections back to Ms Reeves’ toxic decision in the weeks after the election.

That the winter fuel policy was still coming up on doorsteps 10 months later was a sign it was destined for the shredder.

Yet rather than ripping off the plaster cleanly, the past few weeks have seen an agonising u-turn mired in chaos and confusion.

And the Government is still not clear how the softening will be paid for, sparking inevitable fears of more tax rises.

Speculation continues to swirl around Ms Reeves’ own political fate and whether she is in line for the chop.

We know Sir Keir Starmer can be ruthless in wielding the knife, but it is unclear this nuclear option would actually help.

Just ask Liz Truss about the perils of a PM sacking a Chancellor with whom they are ideologically joined at the hip.

Four years is a long time until the next general election, and Sir Keir and Ms Reeves will be hoping voters would have since moved on.

But – even with today’s backing down – the winter fuel debacle is likely to live long in the memory of the electorate and haunt Labour for a very long time.

Major airline warns of technical blunder with passengers told their flights are delayed – when they aren’t

WIZZ Air has been warning passengers their flights were delayed – despite them not.

This morning Wizz Air claims to have had a technical issue that meant some customers were sent email telling them that their upcoming flight was delayed.

However, for most of the passengers who received one of the emails, this is not true.

The airline is now advising travellers to check their flight status via it’s website or app, and if still in doubt, to call the customer service team.

One person commented on social media: “Such error in 2025 not acceptable!”

Some people appear to have been sent the email who don’t even have a flight scheduled.

A person shared on social media: “Why’s Wizz Air sending me an email apologising for flight delay when I don’t have any flight scheduled with them?”

Another person said: “I have received an email supposedly from Wizz Air but it looks like a phishing email.

“I do not have a flight booked, and there are grammar issues and display issues with the email.

“Just informing you this is circulating.

“Sender was offers@noreply.wizznews.com maybe it is spoofed.”

A Wizz Air spokesperson said: “We are aware of a technical issue that caused some Wizz Air passengers to receive incorrect emails stating that their upcoming flight is delayed.

“We can confirm that, for the majority of passengers, these notifications were sent in error.

“If you are scheduled to travel in the coming days, we recommend checking your flight status directly via the Wizz Air website https://www.wizzair.com/en-gb/help-centre/current-flight-status#/ or mobile app for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

“We sincerely apologise for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

“If you have concerns about your upcoming travel plans, please contact Wizz Air’s Customer Service team for assistance.”

Flight compensation rules

A look at your rights if a flight is delayed or cancelled, when your entitled to compensation and if your travel insurance can cover the costs.

What are my rights if my flight is cancelled or delayed?

Under UK law, airlines have to provide compensation if your flight arrives at its destination more than three hours late.

If you’re flying to or from the UK, your airline must let you choose a refund or an alternative flight.

You will be able to get your money back for the part of your ticket that you haven’t used yet.

So if you booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost of the return ticket refunded.

But if travelling is essential, then your airline has to find you an alternative flight. This could even be with another airline.

When am I not entitled to compensation?

The airline doesn’t have to give you a refund if the flight was cancelled due to reasons beyond their control, such as extreme weather.

Disruptions caused by things like extreme weather, airport or air traffic control employee strikes or other ‘extraordinary circumstances’ are not eligible for compensation.

Some airlines may stretch the definition of “extraordinary circumstances” but you can challenge them through the aviation regulator the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Will my insurance cover me if my flight is cancelled?

If you can’t claim compensation directly through the airline, your travel insurance may refund you.

Policies vary so you should check the small print, but a delay of eight to 12 hours will normally mean you qualify for some money from your insurer.

Remember to get written confirmation of your delay from the airport as your insurer will need proof.

If your flight is cancelled entirely, you’re unlikely to be covered by your insurance.

The airline also had a similar issue in 2024, where passengers were told their flights were cancelled following a confusing “technical issue”.

At the time, customers were left frustrated, with one person spending “hours sitting on the terminal floor” with no information.

A pretty European city most Brits won’t have heard of also has new cheap flights from the UK.

Plus, one man tried Wizz Air’s mystery holiday and was treated like royalty at a sunny all-inclusive resort.

Major warning to ALL dog owners over seasonal hazard that can cause injury, swelling or sore spots

DOG owners have been given a major health warning for their animals over a seasonal illness.

A leading Irish pet charity have told owners to be extra careful when out walking with your furry friend.

Dogs of any age or breed can be affected[/caption]

Irish Blue Cross have said that grass seeds are one of the most common health issues among dogs.

And they’re more of a risk during this time of the year, firstly because there is a higher pollen count and more grass growing.

And secondly, because more people are tempted to bring their dogs further afield and into the countryside when the weather is fine.

Pet owners out walking their dog can easily miss a grass seed become stuck in their pet’s fur.

But the hard to detect seeds can cause major health issues for animals.

And they can affect dogs of any breed, age, or size.

Main concerns about grass seeds is that they can pierce a dog’s skin and cause serious discomfort.

And there are some signs to watch out for which could indicate that your pet has been irritated by a grass seed.

If there is a grass seed stuck in their paw, a dog might limp, lick continuously at the area, or you might notice swelling between the toes.

If the same issue occurs in a dog’s ear, they might scratch their ear, shake their head a lot, or you might notice redness on the area.

And if a grass seed is stuck in a dog’s nose, they might sneeze continuously to try and get it out.

Early detection is essential when dealing with a grass seed related issue as it can stop a minor injury turning into a major health problem.

Dog owners have been urged to check their pet’s feet, fur, and ears after walking through areas with long grass.

Head of Veterinary Services at The Irish Blue Cross, Dr Sophie Olah, explained: “Grass seeds can easily attach to dogs’ fur during walks, especially in long grass.

“Once embedded, the seeds can pierce the skin, causing intense discomfort.

“Any dog can be affected by grass seeds when walking through long grass, so it’s important to check your dog’s feet, ears, and coat after walking in areas with long grass.”

Veterinary Surgeon at The Irish Blue Cross, Dr Ciara Sweeney, said: “Early detection can prevent a minor irritation from becoming a serious veterinary issue.

“If your dog has a grass seed stuck in their paw, they could lick vigorously at their paw, you might spot a swelling between their toes, or they may limp.

“If one has gotten into their ear or eyes, they may shake their head, paw at their ear or eye, or you might notice redness, swelling or discharge from their eye.

“They can often sneeze violently to try and dislodge a seed if one has entered their nose, and if a seed enters under their skin, they may chew or lick at the sore spot.”
