Iconic UK music festival is making a comeback 14 YEARS after being axed & will be the ‘biggest beach party’ ever

AN ICONIC British music festival is making a return, 14 years after it was scrapped.

T4 on the Beach, which was axed back in 2012, is getting revamped as Summer Fest on the Beach for 2026.

The hotly anticipated new festival will hit the shores of Weston-super-Mare next summer with huge international names set to perform.

“This is more than just a festival—it’s a full-blown celebration of music, nostalgia, and British summer magic”, festival founder Ian Rogers said.

“The response so far has been incredible, and we’re pulling out all the stops to make this the biggest beach party the UK has seen in years.

“Whether you grew up with T4 on the Beach or just love unforgettable live music, this is your chance to be part of something special.”

In T4 on the beach’s heyday, it hosted the likes of Calvin Harris, Jason Derulo and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

However, the festival was axed after Channel 4 dropped the T4 brand back in 2012.

Festival lovers hoping to attend the rebranded festival next year can register their interest here.

Registering will mean you are the first to hear about pre-sales and artist updates.

T4 on the Beach was initially called Pop Beach and was held in Great Yarmouth from 2003 to 2005.

In 2005, the one-day festival then moved to Weston-Super-Mare, which is where the new festival will be held.

In anticipation of the event, Visit Weston posted: “You’re going to absolutely LOVE THIS!

“Summer Fest On The Beach is a brand new festival launching in 2026, right here on the beach in Weston-super-Mare!

“The excitement around what this event could mean to our town is incredible.

“Think sunshine, sand, wide smiles, massive artists, beach bars, street food, and unforgettable moments, with the backdrop of our beautiful sunsets.”

Terrifying moment bouncy castle takes off in freak wind flying 40ft into air sending children plunging back to earth

THIS is the shocking moment a freak wind sent a bouncy castle soaring 40 feet up into the air, injuring two children.

It unfolded at a fundraising day at a school in South Africa, where an unexpected gust flicked the castle into the sky.

A bouncy castle lifted into the air by strong winds, with people below attempting to catch children falling from it.

Brief footage of the incident shows the large bouncy castle taking off as stunned onlookers scream in horror.

Instead of dropping back down to earth, the inflatable continues to spiral upwards over Laerskool Protearif primary at Krugersdorp.

But the most heart-stopping moment comes when two kids fall out of the floating castle.

Terrified parents scramble to break their fall as they drop from the inflatable, no longer able to cling on.

While the onlookers managed to form a human crash mat, the two kids are still reported to have been seriously injured.

One of the children is understood to have suffered a fractured skull, and the other a broken arm.

The bouncy castle later landed around 50 feet from where it took off.

It is not known if any other children were on board at the time of the incident.

A statement on the school’s Facebook page confirmed that two kids had been taken to hospital following the incident.

The fundraising event was attended by more than 1,000 parents, pupils and friends last Saturday.

The school’s statement reads: “It is with great gratitude that we are happy to share the very good news with you.

“The two children who sustained injuries during the fracture accident at the Protea festival on Saturday were discharged from hospital on 31/5 and 3/6 respectively.

“The necessary trauma-counselling was given to both children, as well as to their co-learners, who experienced the event and thank you all for standing together.

“We thank you very much for everyone’s positive support, help and prayers.”

The school, which has 620 pupils aged 6 to 13, previously hit headlines in 2017 when a tornado blew off its roof and destroyed its buildings.

An eyewitness of the bouncy castle takeoff said: “When they fell I thought they were dead.

“I was watching from a food stall with my girls when I heard screaming and turned around and just saw this blue, green and red thing shooting up to the heavens.

“Then there was a huge scream when first one child and then another fell out but of all the places they could have landed it was right over a group of parents below.

“They reached up their arms to try to catch the falling children and undoubtedly saved their lives or saved them from much worse injuries by cushioning them.

“It was not a very windy day but it seemed this huge gust just came from nowhere and it was said the bouncy castle had not been secured to the ground.”

It is unclear from the footage if the bouncy castle had been securely tethered ahead of the incident.

Melissa Vere Russel of ABC Jumping Castles, which was not the company used, said: “In high gusts a bouncy castle can act like a parachute and the wind can carry it away.

“All castles are manufactured with mechanisms to secure them to the ground and failing to anchor them properly could end in disaster and could be fatal.”

It comes after an Australian bouncy castle operator was found not guilty of failing to comply with safety laws after the tragic death of six children in Tasmania when strong winds blew an inflatable into the air.

The horror incident happened in 2021 when a bouncy castle was blown three feet into the air and landed in a tree 160 feet away.

Six children died and three others were seriously injured.

But owner of operator Taz-Zorb Rosemary Gamble was cleared of breaching work safety laws after the tragedy was ruled to be “due to an unprecedented weather system that was impossible to predict and avoid”.

Angry parents reportedly shouted at the bouncy castle owner after the verdict.

Gamble’s lawyer read a statement on her behalf, saying: “I never meant for something like this to happen. And I am just so sorry that it did.

“I am a mother. I can only imagine the pain that other parents are living with each and every day because of this terrible thing that happened.

“Their loss is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”

The quick ‘cup of tea’ test that could identify if a loved one has early signs of dementia

IT’S well known that forgetfulness and confusion are some of the early warning signs and symptoms of dementia.

But there are smaller, quieter clues that occur in our day-to-day lives making them fairly easy to identify – if you know what to look out for.

How someone makes a cup of tea can be an indicator of brain health[/caption]

In the UK a study published in The Lancet earlier this year found that on current trends up to 1.7 million people could be living with dementia in England and Wales by 2040.

This is over 40 per cent more than previously forecast, so catching the disease early more important than ever.

If you are worried about a family member, dementia specialist, Dr Jane Pritchard, Admiral Nurse for The Good Care Group, has recommended trying a quick “cup of tea” test.

While not foolproof, it’s a useful indicator of how well someone’s mind is working – and whether their brain may be starting to decline.

“If you’re concerned and perhaps seeing some of these actions in the home environment, consider asking for a cup of tea,” the nurse told Surrey Live.

She added: “Asking someone to make you a cup of tea will allow you to observe the many steps it takes to make the perfect brew.”

“Have they boiled the kettle? In what order are they following the necessary steps? Have they remembered where the spoon drawer is? Is the tea bag still in there?

“Missed or misplaced steps could mean that an assessment might be helpful.”

If they really struggle, it might suggest something’s not quite right with memory or thinking skills.

It’s not a diagnosis, but it could be an early red flag.

Another popular test is the clock-drawing test, which the NHS has used for decades.

You ask someone to draw a clock face on a blank bit of paper.

They add the numbers one to 12, then draw the hands to show a time – like ten past eleven.

Sounds simple, but it actually takes a lot of brain power.

You need memory, planning skills and visual awareness – things that often fade when dementia sets in.

If the clock looks wonky or the numbers are in the wrong place, it could mean something’s wrong.

Get it right, though, and it almost rules dementia out, according to NHS guidance.

If someone finds it tricky, a chat with their GP is the next step.

Is it ageing or dementia?

Dementia - the most common form of which is Alzheimer's - comes on slowly over time.

As the disease progresses, symptoms can become more severe.

But at the beginning, the symptoms can be subtle or mistaken for normal memory issues related to ageing.

The US National Institute on Aging gives some examples of what is considered normal forgetfulness in old age, and dementia disease.

You can refer to these above.

For example, it is normal for an ageing person to forget which word to use from time-to-time, but difficulting having conversation would be more indicative of dementia.

Katie Puckering, Head of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Information Services team, previously told The Sun: “We quite commonly as humans put our car keys somewhere out of the ordinary and it takes longer for us to find them.

“As you get older, it takes longer for you to recall, or you really have to think; What was I doing? Where was I? What distracted me? Was it that I had to let the dog out? And then you find the keys by the back door.

“That process of retrieving the information is just a bit slower in people as they age.

“In dementia, someone may not be able to recall that information and what they did when they came into the house.

“What may also happen is they might put it somewhere it really doesn’t belong. For example, rather than putting the milk back in the fridge, they put the kettle in the fridge.”

Numerous people have reported that Apple’s Mail app is crashing and freezing.

Some say they’re left with a blank screen when trying to access their email[/caption]

It’s thought that the issue may be affecting some iPhone devices with iOS 18.5 installed.

“My mail app is refusing to load anything and just shows a white blank screen,” one person wrote on Reddit.

“I have been having this issue all day. Very frustrating!” another commented.

“This has been happening for a few days now and it’s driving me crazy,” a third yelled.

Apple’s own service status page doesn’t show any problems being investigated currently.

There are some workarounds – though it only appears to work temporary and success is mixed.

Some say simply restarting their iPhone helped for a bit.

Others have had said disabling their iCloud account in the Mail settings worked.

However, this will mean that you can’t access iCloud Mail on your device.

For the time being, it might be better to wait and access your emails manually online via your web browser.

If you have an iCloud Mail account, just go to icloud.com/mail.

For those who have other email accounts and want to try disabling their iCloud Mail from the app for now, go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts.

Just remember you’ll need to add it back again after if you rely on iCloud Mail.

iPhone tricks to try today

Here are some of the best...

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the space bar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, letting you move around words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapped squares in the bottom right-hand corner, and press close all tabs
  • Delete lots of photos quickly – Hold down on a photo and then drag your finger diagonally in Photos to select lots of images at once, then hit delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of your Home screen (or swipe left to right on an iPhone X or later model), then tap in the bar and type a currency (like $200) and it will automatically covert to your local currency
  • Check if you’re due a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health, and check out the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally a battery is considered worn when you’re down to 80% capacity. If you’re below, you can buy a battery swap from Apple
  • Move apps around faster – Hold an app until it starts wiggling, then (while still holding) tap other apps, causing them to stack so you can move them around easier
