Caoimhe Costelloe strikes late as Limerick snatch draw against Clare in All-Ireland senior camogie championship

CAOIMHE COSTELLOE salvaged a draw for LIMERICK against CLARE in the All-Ireland Camogie Championship.

Clare looked to be on the verge of a win after a strong second-half display against the wind in Ennis.

But Costelloe struck late to ensure the contest finished 1-9 to 0-12.

Limerick were in pole position after leading 1-4 to 0-3 after 22 minutes.

Clare needed a response and four points without reply restored parity.

Joe Quaid’s Treaty started strongly after the restart as Dearbhla Egan and Laura Southern pushed them two ahead.

But they were held scoreless for the next 18 minutes as Clare drew level with Áine O’Loughlin and Ziyan Spillane pointing.

Costelloe slotted over a long-range free before Roisín Begley responded for the Banner.

Clare sub Jennifer Daly saw her piledriver rattle the crossbar and fly over.

Costelloe tied the game again but Begley appeared to move Clare to victory before Costelloe’s leveller which keeps Group 1 tight.

Meanwhile, KILKENNY overcame a stubborn DUBLIN 1-19 to 1-14 at Parnell Park.

Tommy Shefflin’s side laid the foundations for this win in the first half.

After a tight start which had the teams level at 0-2 each, the Cats outscored their foes 1-9 to 0-4 until the interval.

The Sky Blues began to claw back their deficit in the second period when Aisling O’Neill netted.

But the Kilkenny response was emphatic as they bagged three of the next four scores.

Dublin’s effort was unrelenting with O’Neill, Sinéad Wylde and Áine Rafter cutting the gap to four.

But Katie Power’s 62nd-minute score saw Kilkenny home in Group 2.

At Wexford Park, TIPPERARY eased past WEXFORD 7-18 to 0-7 in Group 1.

Grace O’Brien was the star of the show with a scintillating 3-10.

Karen Kennedy grabbed 2-1 — while Róisín Howard and Jean Kelly also grabbed goals.

Chloe Cashe was the Models’ top scorer with just three points.

Elsewhere, Abby Flynn’s hat-trick of goals helped WATERFORD to a 5-30 to 0-2 thumping of DERRY.

The Déise led by 3-17 to 0-1 at the interval despite Derry keeper Niamh Gribbin making three fine saves at Walsh Park.

Beth Carton and Niamh Rockett also raised green flags as their side went top of Group 2.

Here, we have a fun brainteaser – but there’s only three seconds to find the hidden beach ball[/caption]

So are you up for the challenge?

According to the pros, everyone can spot the umbrellas and windbreakers on this beach, but can you find the hidden beach ball in this sunny seaside illusion?

You’ve got just three seconds to spot it – yes, you heard that correctly – so time is of the essence.

Your eyes are sure to be in for a challenge as you scan the sandy scene packed with beach towels, flip-flops and swimming trunks.

But you’ll need to really focus if you want to spot the beach ball in time.

And it’s so well hidden, will you give up minutes after the time runs out?

The experts acknowledge that this puzzle is no walk on the beach and even the sharpest eyes might miss it at first glance.

So take a deep breath, dive in, and see if you can find the hidden beach ball before the time is up.

It’s a true test of observation under pressure, so can you beat the clock?

Nail it, and you’ve got seriously impressive observation skills.

If you get stuck, luckily for you, we’ve got a simple clue.

You’ll find the beach ball around the middle of the picture, nearer to the left hand side of the image.

So you’ll need to search for a tiny splash of rainbow colour in the crowd to find it.

Are you eager to see if you’ve got razor sharp vision? Now is the time to put your eyesight to the test.

Set yourself a timer and try not to get too distracted by the bright colours and beach-goers.

How can optical illusions and brainteasers help me?

Engaging in activities like solving optical illusions and brainteasers can have many cognitive benefits as it can stimulate various brain regions.

Some benefits include:

  • Cognitive stimulation: Engaging in these activities challenges the brain, promoting mental agility and flexibility.
  • Problem-solving skills: Regular practice enhances analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Memory improvement: These challenges often require memory recall and can contribute to better memory function.
  • Creativity: They encourage thinking outside the box, fostering creativity and innovative thought processes.
  • Focus and attention: Working on optical illusions and brainteasers requires concentration, contributing to improved focus.
  • Stress relief: The enjoyable nature of these puzzles can act as a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Brainteasers are excellent for your noggin because they stimulate cognitive function, improve problem-solving skills and enhance overall mental agility.

They also challenge different areas of the brain, including memory, logic and spatial reasoning.

So what’s the benefit exactly? Improved neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to adapt and form new neural connections.

As well as this, activities like brainteasers, puzzles and riddles require you to think critically, which also sharpens your analytical and reasoning skills.

Some studies even suggest that challenging your brain with teasers may help delay age-related cognitive decline.

And research has found that such mental exercises can lower the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s by keeping your brain active.

So have you found the hidden beach ball in this image?

Are you still struggling to find it? Scroll down for the answer below…

‘How far?’ – Robbie Williams brutally trolls Arsenal fans with Spurs joke during his own gig at the Emirates

While entertaining the fans packed into the ground, Williams couldn’t help but take a cheeky dig at Arsenal – teasing them for the success of local rivals Tottenham.

Joking about Tottenham’s Europa League glory this season, and Arsenal’s failure to win a European trophy since the 1994 Cup Winners’ Cup, Williams asked: “How far are Arsenal from a European trophy?”.

Only to reply: “Four f*****g miles”.

Tottenham fans were absolutely loving the tongue-in-cheek jibe, which was met with a huge cheer inside the stadium.

On social media, one fan wrote: “I always liked Robbie”.

While another added: “No way I’ve just seen Robbie Williams bantering Arsenal on their own turf”.

Arsenal fans were quick to point out that Williams was only right with his assessment of the men’s team, after Arsenal Women won the Champions League this season.

One wrote: “Literally won the UWCL two weeks ago, my friend…”

And a second posted: “I think, Robbie, you’ll find you’re actually stood in the home of a team that has two Champions League trophies…”

Spurs fans are already fond of Williams after they nicked his hit song ‘Angels’ to create a chant for now sacked manager Ange Postecoglou.

And Williams even posted a video of himself belting out the tune with the Tottenham lyrics back in 2023, declaring: “Guess I’m a Spurs fan now”.

In reality Williams is a diehard Port Vale fan, regularly attending the club’s games.

While he was named as Port Vale’s Club President in February last year and has a bar named after him at Vale Park.

Grealish has endured two tough seasons at Manchester City.

The £100million man has found game time hard to come by under Pep Guardiola.

He featured just 20 times in the Premier League last term, scoring once.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are tracking Grealish’s availability.

Grealish is on £300,000-a-week at City and any deal would likely be a loan.

The England winger’s contract runs until June 2027.

Everton’s new Friedkin Group owners are reportedly keen to make a splash this summer.

And Grealish’s short-term future increasingly looks set away from the Etihad.

The 29-year-old has been left out of City’s Club World Cup squad.

Guardiola takes his men to the US later this month for the revamped 32-team tournament.

Grealish requires game time if he is to break back into the England fold.

The ex-Aston Villa star was controversially left out of last year’s Euros.

And with just 12 months until the World Cup, he is reportedly keen on a move to secure that.

England boss Thomas Tuchel has indicated Grealish won’t be considered for the Three Lions until he is playing regularly.

Tuchel said: “He’s a unique player.

“But he needs minutes and minutes and minutes, and he simply does not get them.

“He needs to make himself available by playing.”

‘Great news’ say music fans as popular Irish summer festival to take place after ‘greatly exaggerated’ rumours

FANS have been left relieved as a popular music festival confirmed that they will proceed as usual after rumours of cancellation circulated.

Beyond the Pale is a popular small music festival held on the ancient land of Glendalough Valley in Co Wicklow.

Much confusion was caused among music fans and staff, as suppliers revealed that they were told by the organisers that the event was not going to go ahead.

It was reported that some booking agents had received a call on Friday night telling them that the festival could not go ahead due to “liquidation” fears.

And many people were urging the organiser for a statement as the confusion continued to grow.

However, a statement has been issued by the organiser on social media, confirming that Beyond the Pale was not cancelled and will proceed as scheduled.

They said: “Look, it’s unbelievably tough out there for independent festivals, venues, promoters, artists…we all know that.

“Today we very nearly stumbled, ngl. But the festival gods smiled upon us, and the fate of Beyond the Pale is secure for 2025, and for many years to come.

“Thanks for bearing with us today, thanks for all the messages and gestures of support… and see you at Glendalough next week!”

The organiser also revealed that sunny and warm weather is in the cards for next weekend.

RTE star Jennifer Zamparelli commented: “Can’t wait!”

A music fan wrote: “That’s actually great news for the musical and entertainment scene.”

Another person commented: “What a ride! So glad to hear it’s still going.”

FESTIVAL LINE-UP

The festival is set to kick off from Friday to Sunday, June 13 to 15, with thousands of music lovers expected to attend over the weekend.

It was launched in 2022, with under 5,000 attendees, and doubled to 10,000 by 2024 with 15 stages.

This year, more than 12,500 people and 1,000 staff and artists are expected to attend, with many due to camp on site.

And it recently won Best Small Festival at last year’s Irish Music Rights Organisation awards.

Tickets are currently still available on the official website, with prices starting from €126.90.

The festival line-up for this year includes Roisin Murphy, Jon Hopkins, TV on the Radio, Boney M, Marc Rebillet and Jeff Mills.

And many small artists across the country and beyond will be performing as well, providing a great mix of music for all music fans.
