Bad News for Xbox Fans Waiting to Play Solo Leveling: ARISE – Overdrive

Are you an Xbox and Solo Leveling fan? We might have some good and bad news for you. Starting with the good news, Xbox Games Showcase 2025 unveiled Solo Leveling: Arise – Overdrive, coming to PC and Xbox. The bad news is, it will be released for PC first, and Xbox later on.

Chin up now, PlayStation fans won’t be able to enjoy the game as it would be an exclusive. It’s not so bad after all! But still, it was shown during the Xbox Games Showcase, and Xbox users are treated as secondary customers. However, the wait won’t be long, which is a plus.

Solo Leveling: Arise – Overdrive is coming to both PC and Xbox! But there’s a catch

If you’ve read or watched Solo Leveling, you might already know it’s a story that revolves around video game concepts. But for a long time, there were no games that would replicate the world Solo Leveling showcased. However, that changed with the release of Solo Leveling: Arise on mobile.

The gacha game got quite a lot of attention, but it wasn’t released on major consoles. Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and other gacha games had cross-platform support except for Arise. Sounds pretty sad, but it’s true. Though a PC version is available from their website, again, that’s a different story.

During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Netmarble revealed Solo Leveling: Arise – Overdrive, which would be released on the PC platform in Fall 2025. How is the new version different, you might ask? The new release will feature four-player co-op, which the original release lacks. You’re allowed to make quad-leveling jokes.

The highlight isn’t the features it would bring, but rather it is the delayed release for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud. Netmarble specified that the console version will be shipped sometime in 2026. It’s a bit absurd to see a game during the Xbox Games Showcase, where Xbox is not prioritised.

Xbox fans being treated as a second priority is an insult

If you tuned into PlayStation’s State of Play, you’d expect news about games coming to the platform primarily. Xbox, however, probably didn’t understand the assignment. Players are tuning in to see what’s coming to Xbox, not PC.

Yes, the trailer of Solo Leveling: Arise – Overdrive did specify it’s coming to Xbox in 2026. But there’s no solid date on when exactly. Since early 2026 isn’t mentioned, it’s safe to assume it would be later. If that was the case, why not showcase it during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026?

To add salt to the wound, Netmarble took the opportunity to showcase a PC exclusive title coming in Fall 2025. If Xbox isn’t treated as the priority for the title, why even allow that in the first place? All Xbox did was raise fan expectations, only to make them feel like the least priority.

Xbox may be trying to erase the boundary of exclusives with releases like Beast of Reincarnation, Clair Obscur Expedition 33, and more, but what’s the point? You have a brand and millions of users supporting it, but all you’re doing is ignoring their interests.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 wasn’t so bad this time, but there were a lot of fumbles. Many of us felt underwhelmed by some of the showcases, as they were too drawn. Also, it was more of an Obsidian showcase, despite being streamed by Bethesda. The case with Solo Leveling: Arise – Overdrive isn’t making the situation any better.
