After the Superman Teeth Scene, James Gunn Fans Have Zero Excuse to Rage-Bait Snyder Fans

So… James Gunn’s Superman seems pretty fun, right? Wrong. Although the trailer did have an iconic appearance and a serious look from David Corenswet’s portrayal as Superman, it seems that the movie will be nothing but an alien goofball.

And no, I’m not saying this without any substantial proof. A clip from James Gunn’s Superman was released on social media, and the clip has taken over the internet. It features a stupid scene from a serious movie, and although some might throw their hands up and call it “cinema”, it’s simply not cinema to me.

James Gunn’s Superman is a movie about a goofball?

That’s what the chatter has been all about ever since Gunn announced his upcoming project. No hatred to Gunn since the director has indeed made some iconic movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad; however, some things should remain serious.

Despite the great movies that Gunn has created so far, there always seems to be an underlying comedic tone to them. Gunn has a knack for comedy, be it through physical fights or just that the characters aren’t taking things seriously enough.

However, Superman is a serious character. The Man of Steel is an alien who was shipped to Earth and is literally called a god by several people. Including comedic scenes in Superman would not be wise. Guess what James Gunn did?

Yeah… three teeth emerged from this guy’s mouth (I counted them), hit the camera lens, and fell back on Earth. That’s the amount of absurdity that James Gunn has done in Superman, and no, it isn’t a genius move. Either he can break the fourth wall completely (which will also be a bad decision), or he can simply let Superman be serious.

With Gunn having a knack for making everything comedic or at the very least, unserious, it seems that he might just make Superman a silly goofball who is knocking teeth out of the bad guys. Gunn fans simply do not have any more excuses to rage-bait Zack Snyder’s fans into thinking that their movie is better.

It’s Zack Snyder time, baby!

No… that’s not me saying it, but after the breathtaking scene that James Gunn created for Superman, fans also wonder whether Snyder’s version was better or worse.

Sometimes, you have to own up to your mistakes. Zack Snyder’s creation of a serious and dark Superman was not a mistake. He was the perfect embodiment of what the comics showed Superman to be: a beacon of hope, but an alien nonetheless.

Fans shared their opinions on X, arguing that Snyder’s Superman was better than James Gunn’s in every way and even comparing the CGI between the two movies.

This isn’t a scientific fact but a person’s opinion.

Although people were excited when the first teaser and trailer for James Gunn’s Superman were released, it seems that, ironically, there is less hope for Superman (the beacon of hope) with each passing day.

Superman is set for a release date of July 11, 2025, in theaters (USA).
