James Gunn has been busy revamping the entire DCU, starting from scratch to provide fans with an experience they will never forget. With several projects already announced in the past, it was recently reported that DC Studios is reportedly working on a Mister Miracle series.
An adult animated series based on the great escape artist, the series will be executive produced and served as showrunner by comics writer Tom King. While no casting details have been revealed, Gunn can pull off the funniest move by tapping Daniel Radcliffe as Scott Free.
James Gunn’s DCU is working on a Mister Miracle series

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are reportedly expanding their universe by bringing forth an adult animated series based on the famed escape artist, Mister Miracle. Based on the 2017 12-issue comic book series by Tom King and Mitch Gerads, King will both executive produce and showrun the upcoming animated TV series (via Deadline).
While DCU’s first adult animated series, James Gunn‘s Creature Commandos, is already in production for its second season, Mister Miracle has reportedly started production, although the network remains TBD. Announced at this year’s Annecy Film Festival, the official logline states:
No prison can hold him. No trap can contain him. He is Scott Free, the worldwide celebrity sensation known as Mister Miracle, and he is the greatest escape artist who ever lived. But can he pull off the ultimate trick – and escape death itself?
Reportedly, the show will begin with something gone horribly wrong with the perfect life that Scott and his warrior wife Big Barda have built for themselves on Earth. The thing that is threatening to shatter their perfect life is a war between their homes, the planets Apokolips and New Genesis because of Scott’s adoptive father taking control of the Anti-Life Equation.
Now, Mister Miracle must embark on a harrowing, hilarious, heart wrenching journey across the pitfalls of the ordinary and extraordinary as the son of God raised by the devil tries to save his family, his world, and maybe even himself (via Gizmodo). With production already begun, no casting details have been announced yet.
Daniel Radcliffe as Scott Free: A comedic cosmic coup

With running, adapting his Eisner-winning comic, no voice cast has been confirmed yet for the Mister Miracle series. However, James Gunn can pull off the funniest thing by casting the Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe.
Radcliffe has gone on to star in a range of genres following his time in the highly acclaimed franchise, proving his might as a talented and worthy actor who can take on any role.
King’s 2017 comic, with Mitch Gerads, mixes dark humor—Scott’s deadpan quips amid depression and cosmic stakes—with meta gags, and no actor can do it as perfect a justice as Radcliffe. The Harry Potter star has thrived in eccentric and comedic roles, the perfect example being the absurd anthology series, Miracle Workers.
His Harry Potter fame adds ironic heft, mirroring Scott’s celebrity escape artist persona. Although Radcliffe was earlier rumored to be Clayface, his casting could strike gold for DCU, especially after fans have been asking for casting actresses like Elizabeth Debicki as Barda, envisioning hilarious height-gap banter.
While the Mister Miracle series will suit Daniel Radcliffe’s oddball charm, his casting could easily make the upcoming adult animated series a DCU standout, proving Gunn’s knack for quirky wins.
No release date or platform has been set for the Mister Miracle adult animated series so far.
