Naomi’s Husband Jimmy Uso Is Getting Lost in WWE While Jey Uso Steals All the Spotlight

WWE is stacked with a world-class roster, where every superstar brings something new to the table with their unique talent. However, there are very few wrestlers who can evolve to become a major attraction and become the face of the company. One such attraction was The Usos, featuring Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso, who have dominated the tag team division in the past few years.

However, following their heel turn and their awkward split, they had very different careers. While Jey Uso went on to become an overhyped wrestler and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, his brother has been gradually fading into obscurity.

This was all the more observable when the 16th annual Money in the Bank gave a push to his wife, Naomi, and another main event to his brother, against John Cena and Logan Paul, with Cody Rhodes in his corner.

Jimmy Uso is losing relatability in the modern WWE scene

Ever since The Usos made their debut in 2010, they have utilized their charisma and in-ring talent to enjoy their outstanding success as 8-time WWE Tag Team Champions. The duo was getting better day by day, and they started asserting their dominance by 2016 when they were drafted to SmackDown and started running the division.

Their real run in the company started when they reinvented their characters and joined a Roman Reigns-led Bloodline, featuring them in matches that turned heads. This includes their iconic title reign of 1,002 days. Their team was so great that it made Bubba Ray Dudley sing their praises on Busted Open Radio, calling them the “greatest tag team in the history of the WWE.” This was not because of the wins; they did something that the Dudley Boyz or the New Day could never do. He said,

The Usos are doing something that the Dudleyz and the New Day never did: they are involved in a storyline that is continuing to put a**es in seats.

However, neither man was part of a singles competition, a demand that has been on the lips of every WWE fan. So, they got what they needed at the 2023 SummerSlam when Jimmy Uso decided to turn on his brother, costing him the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

This made the company push the YEET Man to become a babyface, whereas his brother, Big Jim, became a heel and rejoined The Bloodline. This move became his career killer because the explanation was not good enough to convince the fans, and he merely said that his brother should not have turned on the Head of the Table.

Hence, every fan who considers the Bloodline saga to be a masterpiece will call this part too random and ruin the overall impact. Despite playing his role well, Jimmy Uso’s personality and role did not work out because he remained Reigns’ sidekick in The Bloodline, helping other members secure their title opportunities.

WWE tried to mend things between the two when both brothers participated in the War Games at Survivor Series 2024, when the OG Bloodline and CM Punk took down Solo Sikoa’s The Bloodline. Since then, things have not quite worked out for Jimmy Uso because of his part-time role, lack of charismatic entrances, and title opportunities fading stardom in World Wrestling Entertainment.

Jey Uso is having the time of his life

While his brother has been struggling for relevance, Jey Uso has perhaps become the most charismatic and the most annoying wrestler for some, whom WWE believes is perfect for becoming the face of the company. Hence, after earning the title of Main Event Jey Uso, he secured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against The Ring General, Gunther, on Night 1 of WrestleMania 41.

He even gave a moment of fame to his brother by celebrating his victory with him. Since then, he has been part of some exciting storylines, the most recent one being against John Cena as they faced off in a tag team match, with Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul in their respective corners.

Their match was full of epic moments, one including him spearing the Last Real Champion on the announce table. But what made their PPV more exciting was how weeks after the news of R-Truth’s return, he made a comeback and handed them a win.

Monday Night RAW can be streamed on Netflix.
