Professional wrestling is unpredictable. So much so that no one knows what could potentially happen in the next minute, except for no one but Triple H, who is currently the Chief Content Officer of the WWE. At Money in the Bank 2025, The Game made certain decisions that could turn out to be infamous ones in the future.
Behind the glaring lights of this year’s high-stakes pay-per-view event, the WWE universe was amazed by the results of these 3 matches and without a doubt, LA Knight would be the one most frustrated by that, since this is the third year in the row that he was left in the dark even after an impressive performance inside the ring.
WWE fans were puzzled by the results of these matches at Money in the Bank 2025

Lyra Valkyria was in her element this year at Money in the Bank. She attacked Becky Lynch during the introduction in an important match with the Intercontinental Title on the line. Valkyria appeared as if she were a different version of herself. She delivered relentless attacks on The Man with a swinging neckbreaker, which became a flashpoint of the match. But her ferocity was short-lived.
Despite the determination from Valkyria, which peaked by Superplex followed by a Fisherman’s Suplex, Becky Lynch somehow kept herself alive in the match. The Irish WWE superstar countered a top-rope attack into a Man Handle Slam, which was it for Lyra Valkyria, who lost her Intercontinental Title even after complete domination in the match.
Another moment where Triple H decided for the worse was letting Dominik Mysterio retain the Men’s Intercontinental Title against Octagon Jr. Dirty Dom has held on to that title since WrestleMania 41, and an exciting Luchadore was up against him at Money in the Bank 2025. The back-and-forth nature of the encounter had a new champion written all over it, but Triple H had other plans.
Octagon Jr. had an impressive match. As he went top rope to finish things off, Liv Morgan interfered and disturbed the move. Dominik got the opportunity he needed as he delivered a 619 followed by a frog splash to retain the title. Octagone Jr. as the Intercontinental Champion would’ve been a great boost to AAA, the Luchadore roster recently acquired by WWE, but things did not turn out that way.
LA Knight was left disappointed for the third straight year, even after an emphatic performance

The Traditional Men’s Ladder Match was the talking point of the entire event. This year, it was superstars like Penta, El Grande Americano, El Idolo, Seth Rollins, and Solo Sikoa alongside LA Knight to stake their claim on a guaranteed title shot, but much like the story of the previous two editions, the night ended for the former United States Champion with a defeat.
In the year 2023, LA Knight had built a strong momentum before the high-stakes ladder match. He had the support of the WWE universe behind him and performed remarkably during the entirety of the match, taking out superstars like Richochet, Butch, Shinsuke Nakamura and Santos Escobar, but Damien Priest ultimately emerged out as the winner of the match, leaving frustration and disappointment for LA Knight.
The story of 2024 followed a familiar script. LA Knight was on a hot streak, physically primed and in top form, leading up to the big event. He outshone notable talents like Jey Uso, Chad Gable, Carmelo Hayes, and Andrade. Yet, despite his momentum and overwhelming fan support, it was Drew McIntyre who walked away with the Money in the Bank briefcase. The former United States Champion was left in disbelief, and so was the WWE Universe.

After the unfortunate losses in previous editions, this year, LA Knight had probably thought, now was the moment for him. With Seth Rollins as the favourite going into the match, he could’ve been the surprise element, but the creators had other plans in motion. The self-styled architect of the WWE emerged victorious, much along the expected lines of the wrestling community.
LA Knight must have been devastated by what had happened to him in successive Money in the Bank pay-per-view events. Will he return for another attempt at winning the prestigious ladder match and have his moment under the sun? Only time has the answer to this question.
Money in the Bank 2025 is available to stream on Peacock in the United States and Netflix everywhere else.
