Demon Slayer‘s long-awaited Infinity Castle movie is finally close to its debut. As the release date approaches, fans are nervous and eager to see the upcoming battles. The fact that everything will be featured on the big screen is a plus point.
However, there is one character who needs extra attention in the movie trilogy. And if Ufotable wants to make the anime right, they need to make sure that Zenitsu Agatsuma gets the screentime he deserves. After his scant appearances, the upcoming movie might hype him to hell and back.
Zenitsu’s redemption is due in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
One of the most significant battles in the upcoming movie is the showdown between Zenitsu and the demon Kaigoku. But why is this battle necessary? Is it just another chance to show off the animation of Ufotable with breathtaking action scenes? No, it is actually the fight that will complete Zenitsu’s character development arc.
Throughout Demon Slayer, Zenitsu is a powerful but cowardly character. He has not been able to redeem himself yet and was admittedly becoming a bit boring despite all the comic elements. However, the battle against Kaigoku will represent Zenitsu’s values of justice and vengeance.
Zenitsu had never wanted to be a demon slayer, and his naturally anxious personality makes him ill-suited for the profession. However, his Thunder Breathing and physical strength are legendary, even though he himself can’t see it. It is his attitude that is the biggest obstacle. In the Infinity Castle movie, his battle against Kaigoku is how he will redeem himself.
Zenitsu’s fight with Kaigoku will steal the spotlight in the Infinity Castle movie
Most of the Infinity Castle story arc is highly emotional, and most of the heroes are trying to avenge someone or the other. Yet, it is Zenitsu and Kaigoku’s fight that takes center stage because of the whole 180 turn that the former’s character did. He is transformed from a cowering bot to a brave and courageous demon later. The fear that has been plaguing him forever will leave his body in this battle.
Zenitsu was moulded into shape by Jigoro, and he can avenge the latter only by killing Kaigoku mercilessly. Of course, the battle will be emotionally impactful, leading to Zenitsu’s character development. But the best part about it is the fact that Zenitsu will unlock his best use of Thunder Breathing and even unlock a new form.
The fight is brief in the manga, but Ufotable needs to make it a bit more lengthy and implement the best animation techniques in order to do Zenitsu justice. This is his chance to prove himself and also the chance for Ufotable to show what the studio is made of and how much they can satisfy fans.
