Amazon Prime Video may have a habit of releasing its lineup for the month late, but the streamer is prepared to dominate summer 2025.
Prime Video is betting on action comedies this summer, including a trio of films with A-list casts that rival anything you could watch in theaters.
For romance lovers, the third and final season of one of Prime Video’s shows is set to drop in July. And another show has the potential to be a breakout hit for the streamer.

5. ‘Deep Cover’
Although Bryce Dallas Howard seems to be more focused on her directing career lately, she’s headlining Prime Video’s upcoming action comedy Deep Cover. Howard plays Kat, a frustrated comedian who teaches improv comedy. When she’s approached by an undercover cop named Billings (Sean Bean), Kat suddenly realizes she has the chance for the role of a lifetime.
Billings wants Kat to infiltrate a criminal gang, and she’s more than willing to do it. She even recruits two of her best students, Marlon (Orlando Bloom) and Hugh (Nick Mohammed). However, the stakes are very real, and one false step could result in the deaths of all three of them.
Deep Cover will stream on Prime Video on June 12.
4. ‘Heads of State’
There have been plenty of action comedies before, but Heads of State may be the first action comedy to feature the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as the action buddies. President Will Derringer (John Cena) and Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba) clash like oil and water, and their working relationship leaves a lot to be desired.

All bets go out the window when an attempt on their lives forces Derringer and Clarke to go on the run with MI6 Agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas). This unlikely trio may be the only thing standing in the way of a global conspiracy, and Derringer and Clarke may have to get their hands dirty to save the world.
Heads of State will stream on Prime Video on July 2.
3. ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3
Prime Video’s hit romance series The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for its third and final season this summer. The show’s primary love triangle has been between Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and two brothers, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). And she ultimately chose Jeremiah over his brother.
Season 3 picks up with Belly and Jeremiah sharing a summer of love and romance before the start of her senior year in college. But just when Belly thought her heart was set on one man, Conrad reenters her life and makes her question if she made the right choice.
The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 will stream on Prime Video on July 16.

2. ‘The Pickup’

Tim Story directed the upcoming action comedy The Pickup, and he put together a very impressive cast, including Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay and Ismael Cruz Córdova. Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson lead the cast as Russell and Travis, a pair of armored truck drivers.
Russell and Travis’ otherwise normal day is disrupted when a dangerous gang of thieves led by Zoe (Keke Palmer) attempts to hijack the truck. Surrender isn’t an option for these crooks, and the only hope that Russell and Travis have to keep breathing is to stay ahead of Zoe’s group at all costs.
The Pickup will stream on Prime Video on August 8.

Do you remember the last time a streaming series had 13 episodes in its first season? With that many episodes, Countdown may keep us on the edge of our seats until September. This action thriller stars Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles as LAPD Detective Mark Meachum, a man who is recruited by Nathan Blythe (Eric Dane) to join a special task force to solve the murder of a Homeland Security officer.
